Day after chemo

They ‘ve warned me that side effects will probably start after 4-5 days. That means enjoy while you still can! Well, it’s not for sure I’m going to have any after just one treatment but you can’t know until you have seen it!

So I’m taking my sister and going to the hairdresser’s to talk about wigs! Not as fun as i thought but let’s just get this done! Spent the rest of the day trying to do fun stuff and pushing myself a little bit further.

*Sister: the person who gave up everything and is taking care of me (as if I’m a baby…) although she’s younger! Isn’t the big sister supposed to do that? Not in our case apparently…

Back to the medical stuff… During the first days after treatment I’m on high-dose steroid treatment as well. Another ‘not fun’ thing! Sleep is a mess but it helped writing a few posts on the blog!

All of a sudden I started not feeling well… Fever and flashing! But I’m not feeling ill… and it’s too soon for my immune system to collapse!

‘You shouldn’t be your own doctor! If you get fever you need to go to the ER!’ Well…not so many choices! Especially late in the evening…

Part of my job included shifts at the ER. This means I now have to show up as a patient at my workplace! Again…not fun!! It’s a weird feeling experiencing it from the other side. At least I could give an ‘exceptional’ history!

All went well, nothing to worry about. Probably some reaction to therapy. Bonus: a big hug, so much needed!

Reminder: hugs are invaluable! Hug people as much and as often as you can!
